Executive Coaching
Nature of Coachees
Dr. Hyman and her associates have successfully coached mid to high level staff, both executive and technical, in a wide range of specific skill categories. Common coaching needs include:

• Presentation skills including professional presentation of self, public speaking and use of presentation aids

• Selling and influence skills

• Time management

• Interpersonal and conflict resolution problems

Modus Operandi
Collect Data

Data collection methods include:

• Use of 360° surveys or other standardized tools

• Evaluation of internal documents including work samples, reports and evaluations

• Interviews with the prospective coachee, his or her manager and if appropriate other individuals.

Conduct Initial Interview / Set Goals / Build in Evaluation

After the initial interview we agree on a fixed number of sessions that may be as few as one or two or as many as required to meet the specific targets and objectives we set together. If the manager is involved, we provide an outline of goals as well as verbal or written updates on progress, as long as agreed on issues of confidentiality are maintained. If the work is solely with the individual coachee, we assess together how effectively we are meeting targeted goals.

Conduct Sessions

Individual sessions last one to two hours depending on the nature of the issues and the comfort levels of the coachee. Sessions often include role play about particularly difficult interpersonal situations and other types of skill application and discussion. Coachees usually enjoy the sessions because the sessions are so centered on the knottiest problems they are currently facing and have immediate application at work.

Follow-up

After each session the coachee receives an e-mail recapping what we agreed on in the sessions in terms of specific behaviors that the coachee is building.

Convenience

Sessions are usually held at our office at 420 Madison Avenue, located at 48th street near Grand Central terminal. We try to make hours available at the very beginning or late in the work day to maximize the coachee’s time management and not interfere too much with their normal travel arrangements.
